Trello's board is simple and clear, which is why so many small studios start with it. But Trello has no time tracking of its own: you add a Power-Up or a separate timer, and the hours end up apart from the cards.
Notulous keeps the board and puts the time on it.
A board, and more
- Boards with your own statuses as columns, swimlanes, filters, and one board across all your projects.
- Issues instead of cards: with subtasks, priorities, assignees, files, comments and links between them.
- A timer on every issue, a weekly timesheet, and reports of the hours per project, person, client or day.
- Rates, budgets and an invoice export on the Studio plan, so the hours on the board become an invoice.
- Clients who follow their projects without a paid seat, and releases and notes when a project grows.
What it costs
Notulous Team, with the boards, issues and time tracking, costs €7 per person a month: €105 for 15 people, and never more than €249 a month. Studio, with clients, rates, reports and the invoice export, costs €13 per person, €195 for 15 people. Every workspace starts with a free trial of 14 days, without a credit card.
Moving from Trello
Export the board from Trello as JSON (the board menu › Print, export and share › Export as JSON) and import it on the Projects page, mapping the people and the lists to statuses. Cards become issues, with their comments, and checklist items become the issue's subtasks. Importing again later updates what you imported before.
When Trello is enough
If you don't bill your time and a simple board is all you need, Trello does that well. Notulous is for studios and agencies of 5 to 50 people who want the board, the hours and the clients in one place.
